Marketing EdVenture podcast discussing creating an Executive Summary
What is an executive summary?
An executive summary is a summary of the complete document. The reason you have the executive summary is because you want to outline the information from a written document in a short summary with specific information for an executive or high-level person to review quickly.
It's called an executive summary, because this is what the executive of a company or an organization would read. Their time is very limited and sometimes they have to read a lot of proposals. They just need a snapshot of the information contained in the document.
The executive should be able to easily see the who, what, when, why, where, and how to make a decision. So, if you're asking them to give you funding, they'll be able to say yes or no, based on your executive summary. If you're asking them for further support, they'll be able to decide.
