The Fashion Marketing Starter Pack is designed to weave fashion and marketing lessons together for a solid start to the semester.

 

In WEEK ONE, the students will complete the:

  • What Fashion is To Me - learn what their fashion style is. This is a great activity for students to introduce themselves. 
  • Fashion Trends for a Celebrity where they get to create a lookbook for a celebrity of their choice.

For WEEK TWO, the Big Four Fashion Weeks are about to start, so the students will begin a 4-week project about the fashion weeks. It starts off with New York and ends in Paris. This can be a collaborative project or each student can do it independently. Use the following Marketing EdVenture podcasts to support your classroom discussion about Fashion Week:

 

Also this week, students will be introduced to some of the elements of design. They will use the concepts they learn for the fashion weeks project.

MARKETING

During this week, you will begin to integrate marketing into your lessons. The first activity covers the marketing mix. The students will also complete a hands-on activity, Marketing Mix Triangle. Use the following Marketing EdVenture podcast episode to support your classroom discussion about the marketing mix.

WEEK THREE you will introduce the Fashion Career Research Project. Now this project spans the entire semester. It allows students to explore the four levels of the fashion industry to learn about job opportunities. 

In this week, you will also introduce the principles of design, which will also be used as a part of the fashion weeks project. A podcast episode is coming soon that will cover this topic.

 

MARKETING

Then the next marketing concept that you will introduce are the seven functions of marketing. You can use the following video on the Marketing EdVenture YouTube to introduce the lesson on Marketing Functions. I also have a podcast episode that covers this topic.

Students will complete the Name the Functions activity and Marketing Functions Quiz to demonstrate understanding.


Starting WEEK FOUR, the students will  take a dive into learning about the fashion cycle. They're learning the five phases of the fashion cycle, fads, trends, etc. 

Then they'll have an activity where they demonstrate their knowledge about the fashion cycle. Use the following Marketing EdVenture podcast episode to support your classroom discussion about the fashion cycle.

MARKETING

For marketing during this week, they will learn about market segmentation.

Finally, in WEEK FIVE, you introduce a major project about the four environmental factors that affect fashion. This project lasts two weeks and will close out the first six weeks. MARKETING

For marketing, competition will be introduced during this week also.

 

This starter pack is jam packed with so many activities and projects. Although I have framed it for six weeks, you can definitely adjust to accommodate your classroom schedule.
